Brown To Be Sentenced Over Rihanna Attack

Chris Brown is to be formally sentenced for assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna later today.

The singer is expected to escape jail after entering a plea bargain with prosecutors.

He is likely to be given five years probation and six months community service.

Brown admitted one count of felony assault relating to the incident
which happened hours before the pair were due to perform at the Grammy
awards.

Pop star Rihanna was left with severe bruising on her face after the attack.

But if reports are to believed a reunion may be on the cards for the
former couple after they apparently met up at a hotel in New York last
week.

Rihanna’s mum, Monia Fenty has been quoted as saying: “I’m devastated, but what can I do?”

“Rihanna is her own woman with her own mind and very, very independent.
We love her but can’t stand to see her play Russian roulette with her
life.”

It comes as Rihanna’s lawyer revealed the singer is
looking to quash an order of protection which requires Brown to stay at
least 50 yards away from her.

“Rihanna’s position from the
beginning is that there was no need for that level of protective
order,” attorney Donald Etra told E! News.

Brown recently made a public apology to Rihanna in a video message posted on his website.

The singer has been keeping a low profile since the attack but returned
to the stage for the first time during a Lil Wayne concert.

Brown paid tribute to Michael Jackson during his performance by moon walking to Billie Jean.
